Panetta necklace
Details
Founder, Benedetto Panetta began his career as a jeweler in Naples, Italy. He emigrated to the States in 1901. After the great Depression he was able to apply his skills to the costume jewelry production becoming the chief of model makers for Trifari. In the 30's he moved to the Pennino Brothers company, only to finally open his own company in 1945.
Panetta pieces were expensive and the production very limited. All that has made Panetta jewelry very collectible. The company was sold in the late 80's and closed in 1995.
