Chanel Black Lambskin Leather Classic Kelly Bag

Although Coco Chanel started designing in July 1915, she did not design bags until 1955.. The first bags were made in jersey and leather in the shades of beige, brown, navy and black. The quilting tecnique is thought to have been a way of making the jersey -her signature material- more suitable for the purpose of a handbag, but was also used for leather versions. The linked C logo was not in the original bags and was only added in the late 60's.
